Magnetostrictive level meter is a representative of accurate measurement, maintenance-free and long service life. Although the appearance is humble, but it is the main product of liquid level measurement or liquid level control. In the petrochemical industry, power metallurgy, water treatment equipment and other fields have a lot of applications.

 

Magnetostrictive level meter is mainly composed of electronic transmitter, float ball and probe rod. The float rises or falls along the conduit, and the float is equipped with a permanent magnet and a magnetic field is formed around it; The electronic transmitter periodically sends out a current pulse, called the initial pulse, which travels down the magnetostriction line and generates a magnetic field in the downward motion; The two magnetic fields generate torque on the magnetostriction line, creating a return pulse.

 

The pulse travels upward at a fixed speed and is received by an electronic transmitter. Using the Weidman effect principle (also known as the magnetostriction principle), the time interval between the initial pulse and the return pulse can be accurately measured through modern advanced electronic technology.

 

A float is provided outside the measuring rod of the magnetostrictive level meter to move up and down with the level. Inside the float is a set of magnetic rings. When the pulsed current magnetic field meets the magnetic ring magnetic field generated by the float, the magnetic field around the float changes, so that the waveguide line made of magnetostrictive material generates a torsional wave pulse at the position where the float is located, which is transmitted back along the waveguide line at a fixed speed and detected by the detection mechanism.
